WHITE
MSgt White retired from military
service 05-Jun-2005.
MSgt White began
his military career when he enlisted in the active duty USAF delayed enlistment
program in September 1977 and entered basic military training at
Lackland AFB, TX in February 1978. From there, he attended technical
training in the communications-electronics career field as a
“Space Communications Equipment Operator-Repairman Specialist”
MSgt White's
assignments took him throughout the continental United States,
Alaska and Europe. He has served on various types of satellite
communications terminals from small highly mobile units to large
strategic satellite earth stations.
MSgt White joined the Air
National Guard in 1992 and has
been a supervisor and manager of the 134th Air Control Squadrons Satellite, Wideband and Telemetry Systems (SWATS)
work-center and has held positions in Maintenance Control,
been convoy Non-Commissioned Officer In-charge and also
performed First Sergeant duties. His exceptional leadership,
expertise and dedication significantly enhanced the unit's ability
to deploy anywhere at anytime. MSgt White was responsible for
training and mentoring all work center technicians, resulting in the
accomplishment of countless System Training Exercises which
increased the overall combat readiness of the 134th ACS. He led the
SWATS work center through an Operation Readiness Inspection earning
an overall "EXCELLENT" rating. During his tenure, he
participated in several deployments including mobilization under Operation NOBLE EAGLE. MSgt White was also an
integral part of the daily operations protecting the Nations
Capital Region while assigned to the Joint Air Defense
Operation Center, Washington DC. He demonstrated outstanding
attributes of military leadership and performed his assigned duties
with the highest possible degree of efficiency. MSgt
White is known throughout the Air National
Guard communications community as a premier leader and subject
matter expert.
